All students who would like to attend are asked to bring permission slips (attached to your weekly bulletin) to B2 on Thursday or Friday at lunch February 11th or February 12th.  No student will receive a wristband unless they are in Beacon or have turned in a permission slip.  No one without a wrist band will be admitted.   Hope to see you there!

The Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning, & Equity (SCALE) has collaborated with SFUSD and other Bay Area districts to develop a project-based science curriculum, “Learning Through Performance in Middle School Science.” The yearlong science course is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards and is made up six content units, each of which focuses on a scientific question. Students engage in a curriculum that culminates in a project demonstrating their understanding of the content as well as scientific/engineering practices. SCALE provided professional development and coaching to participating teachers and conducted research on the effectiveness of the curriculum with respect to teachers’ instruction, students’ engagement in academic work, and student learning and performance.
